Microsoft launches Buy 5 Get 5 Copilot Studio capacity match for Microsoft 365 E7
Microsoft announced a limited-time promotional licensing incentive on October 21, 2026, aimed at accelerating enterprise adoption of agentic AI workflows by matching Copilot Studio capacity packs for Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) customers. Under the new 'Buy 5 Get 5' offer, available through December 31, 2026, Microsoft provides a 1:1 capacity match for 12 months when qualifying enterprise organizations commit to Microsoft 365 E7 licensing.
The offer applies strictly to customers purchasing a minimum of 300 new annual Microsoft 365 E7 seats through authorized CSP partners. In addition to the seat commitment, customers must enable pay-as-you-go usage-based billing tied to an active Azure subscription and purchase at least five annual Copilot Studio capacity packs.
For eligible transactions, Microsoft matches each purchased capacity pack one-to-one up to a maximum of five matched packs for 12 months. Administrators can apply tenant spending limits within the Microsoft 365 admin center to prevent unintended overage charges as consumption scales.
Microsoft 365 E7 bundles Microsoft 365 E5, Copilot, Entra Suite, and Agent 365 into a unified tier, intended to establish the operational foundation for advanced agentic scenarios including Copilot Cowork, Copilot Studio, and the Work IQ API.
For enterprise IT procurement leaders, chief information officers, and software asset managers, this promotion offers substantial upfront financial leverage when evaluating agentic Copilot deployments. Subsidizing up to five annual capacity packs lowers the effective barrier to piloting complex autonomous agent workflows and custom business logic across large employee bases.
Commercial buyers must carefully review the strict qualification hurdles and consumption dynamics. The 300-seat minimum locks out mid-market and smaller organizations, and the mandated Azure pay-as-you-go billing creates unpredictable downstream usage charges once workloads exceed bundled and matched credits. The announcement does not disclose base list prices for Microsoft 365 E7 or capacity pack renewals after the 12-month matching window, and Microsoft is separately making usage-based billing default-on for new Copilot Business licenses starting December 1, 2026.
